Psych Ed Testing North Vancouver
WHAT IS A PSYCH ED TESTING?
If your child or teen is facing academic challenges or behavioural difficulties, their school or a healthcare professional may suggest completing Psych Ed Testing.
Psych Ed Testing (also known as psychoeducational assessment) is a detailed evaluation designed to explore a student’s intellectual abilities, academic performance, and social-emotional development. The goal is to help parents, teachers, and support teams gain a clearer understanding of how the child learns best—and to provide actionable strategies that promote both academic progress and emotional well-being.
Depending on the specific questions or areas of concern, a comprehensive psychoeducational assessment may include evaluations in:
-
Cognitive and intellectual functioning
-
Academic skills (reading, writing, math, and related areas)
-
Attention and concentration
-
Memory and processing
-
Executive functioning (planning, organization, self-regulation)
-
Adaptive functioning
-
Social and emotional development
The resulting report outlines your child’s unique strengths, areas for growth, and learning style, along with individualized recommendations to support their success—both in school and in life.
